NADWA is an award winning Lebanese-American artist, founder and lead singer of a New York City based world music band. She developed her unique sound by blending western music like Jazz, Bossa Nova and Flamenco with classical and contemporary Arabic Music, creating a cross-cultural dialogue of diverse musical styles.
Nadwa's French-Arabic duet "L'amour en Banlieue" which she co-wrote and sang with the French artist Jacques Pardo won the Global Rhythm Magazine /Sonic Bids award under the category of World Music in August 2006 and was featured on 120,000 CDs distributed worldwide—and went on to win the 2007 US Independent Music Popular Vote Award.
Nadwa holds a degree in Theater Performance and has contributed in various classical and operatic vocal workshops between Beirut and Boston. Her performances have taken her across the Middle East, Europe and the United States. In addition to her performing career, Nadwa is also a TV host, producer and voicer over artist.
Some highlights of her performances include Unesco Palace Beirut, Ryles Jazz Club Boston, Symphony Space NYC with The New York Arabic Orchestra, Miss Lebanon/USA beauty pageant 2007, anuual performances at The Arab American Street Festival NYC and several musical venues in Vienna.
